Here at Beansprouts Early Learning Childcare Center, we want to reach far beyond what parents have come to expect from childcare. Beansprouts is raising the bar.
Our story began when my husband and I were looking for a place to care for our 2 daughters. We were looking for a place that would carry the same core values we lived at home and provide our children with the early education we knew was essential to their growth and development.
We, like most parents, liked the concept of Learning Centers because we knew the importance of early childhood education. Unfortunately, the environment felt cold and uninviting, smelled like bleach, and everything was made of plastic.
Determined to find the perfect place to care for our girls we turned to home daycares where you might be able to find a more eco-friendly environment but they lacked the age specific early education...which is so crucial to their future success.
Stumped I asked around to other parents who were just like me and FINALLY they told me what their secret was.......they settled. One way or another they settled for something less than what they wanted for their children because they had no other choice. UGH, not the answer I was searching for.

One year later....Beansprouts was born!
Our mission is based on 3 simple concepts:

- To nourish the mind by providing a unique and enriching experience for your child’s first experience in a class setting. Our focus is the quality of growth and development in your child. It is so important to us that we maintain a strong and loving example where they feel safe and secure to grow and explore the world.
- To nourish the body with fresh afternoon snacks, that will keep them craving foods like cucumbers, carrots and apples. Developing healthy snack habits is something they will carry with them for life.
- We strive to maintain a green and sustainable environment and make sure that we are teaching habits that better our environment and our health. We believe these habits start at a young age and we strive to be great examples.

Professional Staff
With years of experience, nurturing and creative ways, and a natural love for learning, our teachers are leaders in the field of early childhood education! Our talented teaching team keeps up-to-date on the latest techniques and completes a minimum of 30 hours of professional development training every year. Each teacher is First-Aid/CPR certified and completes a mandatory background check through the State of Maine.
Eco-Friendly & Sustainable
We realize that we are responsible for our environment and we try to instill that value onto our kids. From our light bulbs to our glass cleaner we try to be green as possible. We also believe in sharing with the children the importance of being green. While they may not completely understand why they need to recycle, teaching that habit goes a long way. Just like how we have all been taught not to litter, we teach it’s not good keep the water running or the lights on.
Non-Toxic
From the toys to the furniture, EVERYTHING we purchase is screened for toxicity. We go the extra mile to ensure your child is protected from toxic chemicals taking great care in selecting products such as toys, furniture, sleep mats, outdoor playground equipment and art supplies that will be void of common chemicals like PVC, Formaldehyde, & VOC’s setting us apart from all other daycares. Beansprouts will strive to create a chemical free environment by using special high quality air filters and plants that remove airborne toxins.
Childcare Hours
We are open from 7:00 am until 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. We are closed certain holidays and parents will be given a schedule each year for these days.
